It is enchanting and mind-boggling to stand before the pyramids of Giza, to admire the grandeur of Karnak's temples. First time visitors to Egypt are surprised by the superb selection of top quality hotel accommodation available. In fact, one would be hard-pressed to find a capital city that would equal Cairo in the resort amenities and services good hotels provide. Most have swimming pools, sports facilities, fine continental restaurants, bars and elegant nightclubs. Rooms have air conditioning, private baths and a modern decor. Day 1

Arrive Cairo, you will be met by our friendly representative who will assist you through customs’ formalities. Transfer to your hotel and overnight.

Day 2

After breakfast, you will meet your guide and start visiting the Pyramids of Cheops, Khefren, and Mycerinus at Giza – marvels of human spirit and engineering art – the largest of the three was built in the 4th dynasty and it is one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. Five hundred feet southeast of the Great Pyramids we see the famous Sphinx, a colossal (carved figure of recumbent lion with the head of a man. Continue your visit to Memphis and Sakkara. Back to your hotel and overnight.

Day 3

Transfer to Cairo airport for flight to Luxor. Arrive Luxor airport, transfer to your cruiser. Later on visit Luxor temple. Then you will take an excursion to the Temple of Karnak with its beautiful temple of Amun-Re and Hypostyle Hall, the largest Hall of any temple in the world. Lunch on board. Dinner and overnight on board. B, L, D.

Day 4

Breakfast on board. Visit the West Bank of the Nile; the Valley of Kings and Queens: where sixty-four of Egypt’s rulers were buried in ornate tombs here. Continuing the tour visiting the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir El Bahari and the Colossi of Memnon facing the Nile. Lunch on board. Start sailing to Edfu, dinner and overnight on board.

Day 5

Breakfast on board. Upon arrival visit the Temple of Horus in Edfu, as a sun god Horus’ temple had a daily importance to the ancient Egyptians: this is reflected in the attention to detail in the design and construction found here. Lunch on board. Sail to Kom Ornbo visit the twin sanctuaries of crocodile-headed Harceris, uniquely set, side by side, in a single picturesque Ptolemic temple on a hill overlooking the Nile. It is here that we find recordings of the early Egyptian surgical instruments. Sail to Aswan. Dinner and overnight on board. B, L, D.

Day 6

Breakfast on board. Afterwards start a tour to visit the High Dam which is built by President Nasser to control the flooding of the Nile. There, the Temple of Isis, rising off the waters of Lake Nasser on the Island of Philae. Continue to the enormous 170 foot-long Unfinished Obelisk. Lunch on board. Enjoy a Felucca ride to view the Botanical garden and the Agha Khan mausoleum. Dinner and overnight on board. B, L, D.

Day 7

In an (Tour to Abu Simbel – only if reserved) PM Transfer to Aswan airport for flight to Cairo. Arrive Cairo, transfer to hotel and overnight. B.

Day 8

After breakfast, visit the Egyptian museum; exhibiting collections that now exceed 120000 objects ranging from pre-historic era to the Greco-Roman period including the fabulous treasure of King Tut Ankh Amon. Then continue your visit to the Citadel of Salah El Din; one of Egypt’s main attractions and most popular non-pharaonic monument. Then you will visit the Mohamed Ali Mosque; a splendid towering mosque on the north summit of the Citadel. Afterwards you will be visiting Khan El Khalili bazaar. B.

Day 9

Breakfast. Departure to Alexandria, en route visit the Monastery of Anba Bishoy in the valley of “Wady El Natroun” and the Monastery of
“ St-Mina”. Arrive Alex in the late afternoon check-in the hotel and overnight. B.

Day 10

After breakfast, visit the Catacombs of Kom El Chokafa; a blend of Pharaonic and Roman art consisting of three levels cut in the rock 100 feet deep dating back to the turn of the second century. Then you will visit the jewellery Palace of Mohamed Ali which is considered a glamorous architectural masterpiece. It contains a priceless collection of the rare jewels of Mohamed Ali dynasty, and then you will visit the Palace of “El Montazah” that was the summer residence of the former royal family, located on a high hill overlooking the most beautiful beach of Alexandria. Back to your hotel and overnight. B.

Day 11

Breakfast. Departure to Cairo, on the way visit Al Alamein that witnessed the most decisive battle that raged during the Second World war. Arrive Cairo, check-in the hotel for an overnight. B

Day 12

Breakfast. Transfer to Cairo airport for departure according to your flight details. B.

Tipping is customary in the Middle East for meal bills, tour guides, drivers, hotel porters etc.
